LESSON SEVEN
C, Dotted Crotchets
C, Dotted Crotchets
We are now going down another note and for this you will see it has its own little extra line 6 below the 5 main lines of the stave. This note is C and to play this you just cover all the holes.
We are once again in 3/4 time and this time we are using 3 low notes C D and E. I haven't given you the count now you have done a couple of exercises in 3/4 so see if you can work it out. Remember all the bars add up to 3 beats.

In this exercise we are going to do a few more bars as they are shorter than before. This is because they are in 2/4 or just two single beats to the bar. This is often called march time, Left Right Left Right on each beat. So the notes are C D E and F and the count is 1 2, 1 and 2 and, 1 2, 1 and 2 and, 1 2, 1 2, 1 and 2 and, 1 and 2 and, 1 2 , 1 2. Play as slow as you need to start with and try to count as evenly as possible.
This exercise is a revision of all you have learnt so far, so I am not going to give you any clues. See if you can work our all the notes and lengths and if you get stuck read back over the previous lessons. One point though, look at the time signature, you are back in 4/4 and the four notes joined together are still quavers.
